On Monday the 22nd December 2025, Sunshine Coast Council celebrated the official opening of their new state-of-the art Library Caloundra, Queensland.
The former Caloundra Library was one of the oldest and busiest libraries in the Sunshine Coast network, and in response Council’s former Administration Building on Omrah Avenue has recently been transformed into a brand-new cutting-edge integrated facility, encompassing three levels of district library, customer service centre, and community meeting and venue spaces.
Joining the community for a variety of activities, the library is now home to approximately 130 council staff members as well as library operational staff to support education, creative development and promote community engagement.
